Beautician Insurance

Beauticians are in a thriving business at the moment, so it’s a great time to build a successful foundation. One of the most important steps in this regard is getting your insurance package organised. It may not be the most exciting activity you experience as a new business owner, but it puts you in the best possible position to look to the future of your livelihood.

Some beauticians work individually, and some employ teams of one or more staff. If you employ any staff at all, you will need to have employers’ liability insurance, which is a legal obligation. If you travel to clients to provide your beauty services, you should also make sure any vehicles you use are covered with a motor insurance policy.

If your beautician business operates out of a retail unit or other premises, you should ideally cover this using a buildings and contents policy. If you do, make sure you cover all of your equipment for the treatments you provide, any stock of products you hold, your furniture and interior decoration items, and any cash handling equipment you have such as cash registers.

Handling cash is of course a fast way to enjoy business turnaround, but sadly it increases the likelihood of theft or robbery. The inclusion of cover for money losses can be a great asset for businesses handling cash for this reason.

Keeping a business turning over is no mean feat, so if an interruption to your business occurs, having loss of income cover may be another worthwhile precaution.
